Here are steps you can take to become part of the growing community of permaculture practitioners:
1. Read about permaculture
- Permaville Handbook: A Practice of Permaculture Design
- Recommended Reading
- Read through the project planning chapter for how to design your piece of land
2. Download a project application form. When you are ready, send us your project.
3. Practice permaculture
- Create designs, plant gardens, build things
- Volunteer and practice permaculture at projects around the world
- Sign up or be support for other workshops and permaculture courses
- Start a blog. Document all your work there. Post your blog here to be eligible to teach a Permaville course.
4. Teach
A. Teach a workshop (suggested criteria for teaching):
- Complete at least 3 element installations for the area of work you would like to lead the workshop
- Practice at least 6 months from the date you complete(d) a PDC
- If you are ready to offer a course, upload the following information:Course/workshop title, dates, location, fees, about the workshop, about the site/website, about the instructor(s)/website, course website, contact, register.
B. Teach Intro to Permaculture (suggested criteria for teaching):
- Complete a combination of 6 element installations and site designs (at least one of each, ie 3 site designs 3 element installations, or 5 and 1, 4 and 2)
- Practice permaculture for at least 12 months
C. Teach Permaculture Design (suggested criteria):
- Complete a combination of 10 projects and site designs (at least one of each, ie 5 site designs 5 element installations, or 9 and 1, 8 and 2)
- Teach at least 1 Intro to Permaculture course
- Practice permaculture for at least 24 months after taking PDC
